Chattanooga, TN — 11/1/19 — CarpetsPlus COLORTILE®, the business networking and resource-licensing group, recently held its sixth annual buying committee meeting here at the Westin Hotel, October 27-30 to evaluate, discuss and plan the group’s merchandising, programs, promotions and events for 2020 and beyond. The meeting also included several mill visits and a plant tour.
This most recent Buying Committee was comprised of a representative group of members from seven stores from around the country convened this year with nine total representatives from those stores.
The meeting was kicked off with a plant tour of Engineered Floors in Dalton and product review at their corporate headquarters.
Members were also able to listen to a few key suppliers as they presented new products. Engineered Floors, Shaw carpet & hard surface, Mohawk carpet & hard surface and US Floors were among the suppliers who participated. Open and honest ideas and feedback from all attendees after presentations.
Kevin Logue, co-COO and EVP Marketing for Alliance Flooring, said, “The obvious takeaway from our meeting was the input we received CarpetsPlus Buying Committee. It’s valuable in helping us create our strategy for merchandising and for all our programs. They always provide a few nuggets of wisdom from the front lines of retail.”
Jon Logue, Alliance Flooring’s co-CEO, said, “We always appreciate the input we get from our Buying Committee. We received feedback on merchandising, opinions about new products and promotions as well as data on what’s selling. Everyone seemed to be really pleased with how it went. This was the best, most productive Buying Committee meeting we’ve had so far.”
Ben Case, owner of The Carpet Collection in Lockport, NY, agreed. “We appreciated the extra time given to us to share best practices with each other and the extra time provided to discuss the new products, promotions and events. It was an excellent meeting and I feel we accomplished a great deal.”
